Goodnotes organizes content like your computer. Folders are virtual bookshelves where you can group notes by subject or project. Documents are notebooks you create or files you import for annotation.
Organize with folders to find similar documents quickly. You can create colored folders and sub-folders with custom icons to match their purposes!
Choose +New... from the Documents tab of the Library View.
Choose a library item to create:
Notebook: Create a customizable notebook.
Text Document: Create a Text Document.
Whiteboard: Create a Whiteboard Document.
Import: Import one or more files from Files.
(Apple only) Quick Record: Create an untitled notebook and start recording immediately. See Record audio.
QuickNote: Create an untitled notebook, bypassing the typical Notebook Creation dialog.

You can double-tap or double-click the +New… button to create a QuickNote.

(Apple only) Scan Documents: Import a physical document by scanning it.
(Apple only) Study Set: Create a flashcard deck and use Spaced Repetition learning. **See (Apple only) Study Set.
Image: Import an image from Photos.
Take Photo: Import a photo with the Camera.
To mark a library item as a favorite, tap the Star icon, which stays either in the top-right corner or to the right of its thumbnail. The icon will turn red to indicate success and the library item will appear in the Favorites tab.

To remove a library item from Favorites, simply tap the red Star icon.
Open the item’s menu via the Down arrow to the right of its title:

Choose any of the following:
(D = visible on a document only, F = visible on a folder only)
[Item name] (Apple) ****or Rename (Android, Windows, and Web): Tap it to rename it.
(Apple only) Customize Color (F), Set Icon (F): Change the color and/or icon of the folder.
Duplicate (D): Create a copy of the document.
Move: Move the item to another location.

You can move content only within the same document type, with each type restricted to specific destinations. For example, a (Apple only) Study Set or Text Document can only be moved to a folder, while a notebook or Whiteboard Document can also append whole documents and individual pages/boards can be moved within their type).
Search for a destination library item: Type its (partial) name in the search box.
Filter (Apple only), or sort library items: Choose an option from the Filter list accessible via the button near the top-right corner:

Expand/Collapse a folder: Tap or click it.
Create a new subfolder within your selected location: Choose the New Folder icon in the top-right. </aside>

If the library item is a document, to merge it with another, choose a document (not a folder) and confirm with the Move button. Your two documents will be one!

(Apple only) Open in New Window: Open the page in Split View.
Export: Export the item. See Export notes.
Share Link to Collaborate (Apple) or Share… (Android, Windows, and Web) (D): Share the document. See Share a document.
Add Lock (D): Lock the document.
Move to Trash: Delete this item.

Select those items in the Library View:
Apple: Open the Views menu > Select Items, then tap the items.

Android, Windows, and Web: Choose the Select icon (near top-right corner), then tap the items.
