GoodNotes makes it easy to find the following content that helps you retrieve notes:
Handwriting created with The Pen Tool
Typed text created with The Text Tool
Text in imported PDFs
<aside> ⚠️ Only PDFs that include an OCR (Optical Character Recognition) layer are searchable. PDFs created digitally, for example from word processors, almost always include an OCR layer. PDFs created from physical documents or books through a PDF-scanning app might also have OCR performed on them and might be searchable. Note that GoodNotes does not perform OCR on imported PDFs subsequently.

Tap the Search icon near the top-left corner.
Type one or more search keywords separated with a space into the Search field.
The app will find content in the document, including its outlines, that matches any of the search keywords and shows results by page. For simplicity's sake, multiple occurences of a search keyword on the same page are counted as one result. The matched text is highlighted both on the containing page and in each result line.
Tap the result line.
Tap the < or > button on the search navigation bar at the bottom to navigate between results.
