Goodnotes has three main input modes to help you create handwritten, typed, or audio notes, or a mix of them on the same page.
Choose the Writing Tools icon from the toolbar, then select the Pen icon and write or draw your notes! You can use a preset stroke width and type, and color on the right-hand side.

Choose the Writing Tools icon from the toolbar, then select the Eraser icon and swipe across the content you want to erase. You can set the eraser type and size:

Choose the Writing Tools icon from the toolbar, then select the Pencil icon from the Active Tool Menu, and sketch your drawing. You can use a preset stroke width, and color.

Choose the Writing Tools icon from the toolbar, then select the Highlighter Tool from the Active Tool Menu and swipe over the content you want to stand out. You can use a preset stroke width, and color.

If you're working on an imported PDF document, you can easily highlight or strike out its text with just a few steps:
Select the Text Tool from the toolbar, tap anywhere on the page, and type.
Format the text as you type via the Object Menu.
<aside> ℹ️ If you create or paste a large amount of text, it won’t go past page boundaries and is hidden until moved into full view. To avoid this, try to copy and paste text in smaller chunks, or resize the entire text box to make it fit the page.
