Supported formats
GoodNotes makes it easy to share your annotations in a number of ways:
- Exporting one or more folders and/or documents
- Exporting one or more pages of a document
GoodNotes supports exporting in the following file formats:
- GoodNotes document (.goodnotes) - for sharing with other GoodNotes users or for your own backup
- PDF - for viewing in any PDF viewer on any platform
- Image - for viewing in an image viewer on any platform
Export the current document

Open the Share & Export menu.

Choose Export All

Change the Export details if needed:
- Exported file name: Change the Filename field.
- Options: They vary depending on the Export format.

All formats:
- Include Page Background: The output will include the page template(s), or the PDF background(s) in the case of an imported document.
- Include Annotation: The output will include your annotations.

PDF:

PDF Data Format: Choose either Flattened or Editable.

Enable Handwriting Recognition (available for the Flattened format only): Any handwriting in the output will be searchable, selectable, and copiable like regular PDF text.

Image:
- Export Images as Zip File: The output will be a single .zip file containing every exported page as an image; otherwise, the output will be one or more image files.

GoodNotes:
- Include Comments: The output will include your comments. See Comments.

Link:
- Share Link to Collaborate: The output is a link instead for sending to other GoodNotes users for collaboration on the document.
- Open Document on Web: The link is also viewable on the web for non-GoodNotes users.

Tap Export

Choose an action from the Share sheet.
Share the current document for collaboration

Enable Share Link to Collaborate
and wait until the link is created.

Optionally tap Sharing Settings
and enable “Open Document on Web” to make the document viewable on the web, even by people without GoodNotes installed.

Tap Send Link
from the Share & Export menu and choose an app, e.g. a messaging or email app like Mail, to send the link to, or tap Copy
and paste it manually in a message to someone.
