What It Does

Use the Tape Tool to hide and reveal text in your notebook. It's a helpful way to study by testing your memory, a method known as active recall.

How to Use It

Cover content

• With the Tape Tool selected, run your stylus over the content.

Uncover content

• While using the Pen Tool or Tape Tool, finger-tap the tape.

Customize the selected stroke

1. Tap the slot again.

2. Make customizations:

   • Set the thickness: Adjust the thickness slider.
   • Restore stroke:

     • Apple: Tap the More Settings icon in the top-left corner > Restore Stroke.

       

     • Android, Windows, and Web: Tap the icon in the top-right corner.

       

Set tape style

• Tap one of the tape slots in the contextual section located on the right-hand side.

• To customize this slot, tap it again and choose a new tape style for the slot.

  Apple only: Recently used patterns will appear in your History tab for quick access

Add another tape slot to the toolbar

1. Tap the Add Slot icon at the end of the scrollable contextual section:

   

2. Choose a tape style for the new slot.

Delete a custom tape slot

1. Tap the slot twice.

2. Open the More Settings menu:

   • Apple: Choose the top-left corner icon:

     

   • Android, Windows, and Web: Choose the color wheel, then the More icon:

     

     

3. Choose Remove (Selected) Color Slot. Note that this option won’t be available if you have only 3 slots.
