GoodNotes Presentation Mode allows you to convert your iPad or iPhone into a digital whiteboard (currently not supported in GoodNotes for macOS). When you connect your device to an external screen or projector via HDMI or AirPlay Screen Mirroring, Presentation Mode lets you hide the user interface and other distracting elements from your audience.

Trigger Presentation Mode

  1. Connect your iPad / iPhone to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV, AirPlay 2-compatible smart TV, or Mac.
  2. Swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen.
  3. Tap the Screen Mirroring icon (next to the Rotation Lock icon).
  4. Select the external screen, e.g. Apple TV, AirPlay 2-compatible smart TV, or Mac from the list.
  5. If prompted, enter the on-screen passcode on your iPad / iPhone.

Choose how your notes are presented

With Presentation Mode active, do the following:

  1. Open the Share & Export menu.

  2. Select one of these options:

Option What is shown on the external screen
Mirror Entire Screen Exactly what you see on your device.
Mirror Presenter Page The current page with zooming and page switching animations. Apps in Split View are hidden.
Mirror Full Page The current page in full width and height without zooming and page switching animations. Apps in Split View are hidden.

<aside> 💡 Presentation Mode over AirPlay (Screen Mirroring) requires an AirPlay receiver, which means if you want to mirror your iPad or iPhone screen to your typical computer screen, you'll need to turn the computer into an AirPlay receiver (unless the functionality is already built in). If you're on macOS Monterey or later, the Mac is already an AirPlay receiver. Otherwise, you will need to use a third-party app, like Zoom or Reflector, in order to make your computer an AirPlay receiver, which makes it possible to use Presentation Mode in GoodNotes.f
