• Preferred Languages

  When you convert handwriting to text in a language for the first time, the resources for that language will be downloaded onto your device, and the language will be added to this list. If there was an error downloading a language pack, make sure you’re on stable Wi-Fi for the app to retry the download, or you can tap the red icon next to the failed download to retry it manually.

  Tap Add Language to manually download additional languages.

• Language Detection: The app will detect the language(s) of the handwriting. This is useful for converting handwriting written in multiple languages.

• Default Language: Tap to choose a language to automatically apply to new notebooks or imported documents. For example, if you only ever write notes in English or annotate PDFs written in English, choose “English (UK)” or “English (US).” This will download that language for offline use in making your documents searchable.

• Math Conversion: The app will convert handwritten math expressions to nicely displayed math objects. See Math Conversion.

• Index PDF and Handwritten Notes

  • ON: Documents are made searchable via a background process called “indexing,” which runs after you’ve imported a document or made new annotations.
  • OFF: Previously searchable (i.e. indexed) documents will remain so, but new ones won’t be searchable.
