With a modern look, Goodnotes 6 aims to make it easier to access and use all of the tools you love, and the new ones you’ll discover. This guide will help you get familiar with the main interface.
The Library View is home to your own documents and those shared with you. When you launch Goodnotes for the very first time, it's the first thing you see. Initially, it's empty, but as you start creating your notes, your creations will appear here. The Library View provides tools to manage your documents, search them, and get new items to enrich your library.
The Document View is where you can let your creativity flow! It's the view where you can take notes, using several editing tools at your disposal. This is what you see when you tap to open a document from the Library View.
From the Document View, you can get to the Library View via the Home icon in the top left corner.
Located at the top of the screen, the Document Tab Bar displays all of your open documents (by default). You can switch between documents and close them from here.
The Nav Bar is located right below the Document Tab Bar and provides quick access to different sections of the app.
The Nav Bar consists of three sections:
The left section offers access to the Sidebar (for managing pages), Search, Goodnotes AI, and View Modes (Edit or Read-only).
The middle section houses the Toolbar.
The right section contains the menus of Add Page, Share & Export, and More.
Tools are organized into simple categories based on their function. Most tools have a dedicated secondary-level menu called the Active Tool Menu, making it easy to access any specific tool you might need.
